MTC but in Person!
This week has been one of the weirdest but most amazing weeks of my life. This week has been short but it's felt like I've been here for a month. I spent Monday and Tuesday busy packing up my room and then packing all of my off for the mission.
Some short highlights of the week:
Wednesday morning goodbyes to many people in my ward!
Bishop Paccum from the YSA Ward and his wife at the Airport!
Called as DL!
Now we got the things that cant be summarized,
Once I got to the MTC, I had to go through some short missionary orientation, and then I would be guided by whichever missionary was available to my room. And it happened to be Elder Boyce!! The odds of him being the next missionary to take an elder to their dorm and that elder being me were so slim. It hasn't been the longest since I've talked to him but the reunion was already amazing!
Finally being here with the district this past week has been amazing. Before we got here I got almost everyone's bets on everyone else's heights. The Elders were shocked when a sister ended up being 6'1. One of the sisters won the “bet” and so she got a $15 gift card.
Being the DL has been a super cool experience. During my first district council, I had a prompting to invite my district to do something, and the next day, there were some people who did what I invited, and found so much strength and comfort in it like I promised. It was so cool to see how one small prompting, that could have easily been ignored, can change someone's life.
I just wanted to end with another scripture I found this week. This is Alma 33:11, “And thou didst hear me because of mine afflictions and my sincerity; and it is because of thy Son that thou hast been thus merciful unto me, therefore I will cry unto thee in all mine afflictions, for in thee is my joy; for thou hast turned thy judgments away from me, because of thy Son.”
It's not the easiest to find constant joy, but I know that my joy is in my savior. I am having so much fun here and constantly finding joy and peace in the savior and I know, that is where others can find that joy and comfort as well.
Until next week!
