Transfers!

This week has been absolutely crazy!

The week started with tons of worries about transfers. We were at our district council meeting when the emails came in, and as it turns out, they kicked Elder Montmeny out and brought in Elder Turner. It was super weird going around while my companion said goodbye to tons of our friends here.

Elder Turner is super fun and has a great mindset when it comes to getting everyone at church, and then baptized after that. We have tons of fun, AND, now that I can drive, he lets me drive. I am so happy to be driving again.

The best part of this week was Veronica getting baptized! She was running late on Sunday, so we were getting pretty worried. But then she showed up with her whole family, and they LOVED it. The baptism went really well, and the spirit was undeniably strong during the service. After the service, almost everyone in her family told us they wanted to be Baptized, so we can't wait to start meeting with them. It has been super cool seeing how Veronica has become so converted. She knows this gospel is true, and she loves being here.

Outside of that, earlier this week, I got to do an exchange with Elder Child, so we didn't have to drive 6 hours for transfers. During that time, we had 3 different people tell us to deny our testimonies and leave the Book of Mormon behind. The spirit left immediately and it felt so off. I kinda talked to him about how stupid of an idea it would be to leave it behind once I've gotten so many confirmations of it. Such a wild day, but it turned out to be one of my favorite days on the mission.

Even though some things have changed, I still love it out here and I'm just so grateful to be working in New Bern. So many people have told me that this is the best place in the mission, and I totally believe it. The people in New Bern are so special and make the work so much easier to do.
