1 Nephi 1:1
So this week started off wild because everyone here thought that hurricane Erin was going to hit, but the worst that we got here was like 15 mph winds. Absolute scam
but I guess it's a blessing because it sounds like being evacuated isn't as fun as it sounds...We had exchanges this week and so I got to go around with Elder Pulsipher and it was so great. We met a lot of super great people who have some genuine interest in the Gospel, so that is super exciting.
During our exchange our on date Daniel B got interviewed for baptism, and he did great! After though, he said he didn't know why we need to take the sacrament every week.
So the next day, we had a lesson super focused on the sacrament. We were scaredit would be a big issue, but it turns out, Daniel Loves the sacrament, and has felt the power of it change his life. But he was nervous what would happen to him if he stopped.
After we explained that nothing bad happens if you stop, but that you won't feel the spirit direct you as strong as if you did, he didn't have any more worries.
The next day we woke up, and he sent us a text saying "Today is the day!" We had no idea what it was about, but it turns out he woke up and instantly grabbed his Book of Mormon and read 1 Nephi 1:1. He said he just felt the power of that verse come into his life. It's so amazing how even the first verse of the Book of Mormon brings power. And this is true with every page you open. You instantly feel the spirit.
We're super excited for Daniel to be baptized this week! He loves the gospel so much and already tries to help other people get to church and listen to the scriptures. He has changed and come so much closer to the Savior. This week is transfers though, so I'm banking on being able to be here for the baptism.
Hope yall are doing well!
I'm slowly adding more to the Google photos so that pretty new!
Have a great week!
